Terra and Vine

Terra & Vine offers casual, rustic Mediterranean fare with an Italian emphasis in the heart of downtown Evanston. The menu at Terra & Vine features a variety of shareable dishes and large plates, including pastas, pizzas, and grilled entrees. Terra & Vine features four distinct private dining rooms that can accommodate groups from 10-140, perfect for breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner and cocktail receptions for any occasion. Terra and Vine opened in September of 2016.

The Boarding House

The Boarding House opened in December 2012 and was Alpana’s first restaurant. The multi-level restaurant was located in a historic building dating back to 1872. Alpana crafted a thoughtful list of 500 wines from around the world to pair with the globally inspired menu. The Boarding House was nominated for The James Beard Foundation’s Rising Star Award as well as a semi-finalist for Outstanding Wine Program. After a successful six year run and inspiring many of its team members to start a career in wine, The Boarding House closed in 2018.

seven Lions

Seven Lions was Alpana’s second restaurant (opened in 2014) and was located on Michigan Avenue, directly across the street from the Art Institute of Chicago. Seven Lions was a modern interpretation of a clubhouse restaurant and featured a contemporary twist and American classics and an impressive wine list with uniquely grown American varietals. Just as she did with The Boarding House, many of Seven Lions former team members can now be found running wine programs at Chicago’s top restaurants. Seven Lions closed in 2018.

experience and a vast network of industry contacts. Prior to owning
three of her own restaurants, she served as the Director of Wine
Spirits for Lettuce Entertain where she created dynamic beverage and
training programs for their various concepts. Known for her signature
wit, motivational stories and infectious enthusiasm, she has trained
and inspired many service professionals, many who have gone on to run
their own restaurants and beverage programs. As a restaurant owner,
she knows firsthand the financial pressures of getting it right!
