Recipe Notes
Moscow Mule is traditionally made with vodka but with St. Patrick’s Day around the corner, the Irish whiskey makes for a fun twist. The best mules are made with ginger beer which is very different from ginger ale. Ginger beer has a more pronounced ginger flavor that balances the spicy wood and vanilla notes from the whiskey. You can forego the copper mug but then it won’t be a proper mule and it’s definitely not as fun. If I could create a drink to describe the taste of my 20’s, an Irish Mule would be it: vivacious, carefree and refreshing — just a big mug full of fun.
